It’s good to step away from the screen, it’s actually when my clearest ideas come.

Maybe that’s because social media should reflect life, rather than replace it.

Maybe 2026 is the year we ease off the overuse of AI, sleek photoshoots and heavy filters…. and just share what’s actually going on in our businesses.

From my experience, that’s what people connect with.
Whether you’re a shop in town, a practitioner, or a B2B service, people want to connect with people, not slogans or perfect feeds.

What’s happening day to day is enough.
It’s real. It’s interesting. And it’s what social media was meant for. I need to follow this advice always too!

Social media was created to be sociable, to share and connect with one another. AI has taken this away, somewhat, with the hundreds of AI-generated captions that seem to have little human input flooding all channels.

But I think in 2026 authenticity will win.

Spending more time planning than posting will set your social media apart.

I’ve seen a lot of businesses rushing to keep up online in 2025, aiming to be louder, slicker and more “perfect”.

What’s actually working is much simpler.

▪️Human stories.
▪️Local context.
▪️ And real-time content, like sharing what’s happening now, not weeks later.

Social media is only one piece of the digital marketing puzzle. It’s for sharing and being sociable.

The work underneath it all is your website, clear messaging, strong pages and somewhere for people to land when they’re ready.

To be honest, I spend so much of my time helping other businesses show up online. This January, I’m making more of an effort to show up here in real time too!

I wanted to share a simple snapshot of the services we offer!

A big part of my work is helping amazing businesses take what they’re already doing offline and bring it online in a way that feels real. The personality, the people, the local context…not polished or forced, just seen and understood by the right audience.

I work closely with my clients, often becoming part of their team rather than an outside agency. Especially for businesses around Ballina and the west, that local understanding really matters.

2025, what a year. I’ve been meaning to share more client stories, and this one feels right to start with.

Gearóid runs @amatsu_therapy_mayo offering a gentle yet powerful Japanese bodywork therapy that supports the body’s natural ability to rebalance. It works on the physical, emotional and structural levels, helping people move better, feel clearer and release long-held tension.

And he is the only Amatsu practitioner in Mayo!

When we first spoke, his work was already helping a lot of people, but he didn’t have a website and was living out of his notebook.

We built a streamlined website that finally reflects what he does:
Clear information, simple navigation, proper packages, and — most importantly — online booking that works.

We also launched Wild Wellness Mayo together during the summer: Combining Amatsu, breathwork, sauna and ice into one experience which was picked up with the local papers and will run again next year!

👋 Hi, I’m Jessica, I’ve recently started All Mac Marketing to help small businesses grow online…
…with simple, creative marketing support that actually works (and without the big agency price tag).

I began my career as a journalist and editor, writing for The Times supplement and a marketing magazine, before moving into digital and heading up marketing teams for tech startups for over a decade from London to Australia.

When I lived in London I don’t think I noticed one season change to another, or the beauty of it.

This Autumn I have felt the change, the colder air, the leaves moving from orange to brown and red the different feel of the landscape, as if it’s tightening readying itself for the colder Winter months.

When I first had the idea for All Mac Marketing I had to do a lot of research, and here are some of the facts I came across, I thought I’d share:

▪️45% of Irish SMEs still have no website.
▪️Only 40% sell online, even though many have sites.
▪️75% of businesses use social media, but many disconnect it from their website.

If you don’t have a site, or your socials and site (& emails ,ads etc.) don’t connect clearly it won’t work well…

Real impact comes when you build something connected and all channels feed into each other and work to create a funnel: engagement, lead generation, sales.

This results in growth.

I was always taught to create a hero piece of content, this something big enough to drive traffic & generate leads that you can repurpose, recycle and keep working for you over time.

That’s true no matter the size of your business, it gives you an anchor, a plan and a direction.
